Cotswold Artist
|
The Cotswold Artist, Jeremy Houghton, has lived in Broadway, the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’,
all of his life. There has been many a Cotswold artist over the years who have
created portrayals and landscapes of these much loved hills, emphasising its
status as a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It is no wonder that
paintings by the Pre-Raphaelites, and the ideology of William Morris, were so
inspired by the romance and traditions of Cotswold life. The Cotswold artist has
always painted; He trained at The Slade in London, the University of Provence
in France, and is now furthering his artistic studies with an MA at the
University of Gloucestershire. He plays a key role in the Broadway Arts
Festival which celebrates this village’s invaluable contribution to not just
the art history of the Cotswolds, but to that of the country’s history books
too. For a sneak preview at the Cotswold Artist's forthcoming exhibition click here
